In August 2014 Mr. Gino Campbell was appointed the Director General of the Curaçao Gaming Control Board (GCB). In the period of June 2011 to February 2014 he had already served two terms, for a total of 22 months, as the Interim CEO. Mr. Campbell is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) and a Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS), with extensive experience in audit and business advisory capacities to a wide spectrum of business typologies. This experience has proven to be invaluable in the design, introduction and execution of a risk-based approach to the supervision of the casino industry on Curaçao, which has resulted in a constantly improving professional disbursement of the regulatory duties by the GCB. Under his leadership the GCB expanded its responsibilities to become the licensor of the lotteries and charitable gaming sectors and most recently the supervisory authority for AML/CFT-compliance of all gaming sectors that operate in and from Curaçao. Further expansion of the regulatory responsibilities of the GCB under the gaming legislation, to include all gaming sectors other than the casino sector, is imminent.
Mr. Campbell is the initiator and founding member of the recently organized LACARGA, the Latin American and Caribbean Regulators of Gaming Association, a non-political peer association of Latin American and Caribbean gaming regulators that has the objective to improve the quality of gaming regulation and supervision within the Latin American and Caribbean region.
